GENERAL DESIGN PHILOSOPHY

Here's what we believe...

The function of the designer is to increase the legibility of the world.

Changes to the design of visual organisation of a document will lead to changes in how people perceive its content.

Communication design is clear thinking made visible.

Only with design can we achieve client interaction and create a feeling of ownership ensuring they stay as excited as we are during the process.

We have permission to say, I don't know what that means over and over again! Not knowing what something means, but finding out and then depicting it in clear concise visual terms is what we do as designers!

Designs are almost always initiated for clients who have problems communicating to the customers effectively.

We always have to figure out, which bits are better said in pictures and which bits are better said in words. And then we have to think about how to design both concisely.

At the end of the day as designers we need to know our subject, and have a passion for it.

Buried treasure has no value. There's no success if you create great content, visual or other wise and everyone misses it, design is the treasure map.

Visual clutter is a failure of design not an attribute of communication.

In a nut shell...

Design gathers architecture and products, images and information, the aesthetic and the technical. It also engages process and practice, object and structure, economy and politics, human organisation and the auspices of designed things. Design is viewed with status in its own right - it is neither subordinated to the arts or the sciences.

Design is a crucial factor in the relation between beings and worlds as they shape each other. In this context it is not a matter of just asserting the need for design to be engaged philosophically, but rather that philosophy engage design for the sake of philosophy.

Therefore...

We subscribe to the belief that creative design can clarify and simplify. It can inspire loyalty, sell millions, or save lives. It's the power that lies in its nuance: intelligently planned and skillfully achieved, it's more than a tool to tempt the eye. It's the difference between considered and purchased, annoyed and inspired, lost and found.

Our deliverable is effective communication through creative design.
